Indian Pacific

One of the world's ten most extraordinary train journeys! The Indian Pacific takes you from one ocean coast to another, over 4,000 kilometres, right across Australia.

4-day luxury train journey with the Indian Pacific

This will give you a fantastic impression of the immense, incredibly beautiful and varied landscape. Your journey begins in port city Perth on the Indian Ocean coast, after which the route heads up through Avon Valley and Western Australia's golden granary. The end of day 1 includes a stop in Kalgoorlie, where you can go on an excursion to the 3.6km-wide Super Pit gold mine. Day 2 begins with a first-class breakfast on board, as the train takes you through a varied landscape to the Nullarbor Plain, an almost treeless, desolate region. Across the Nullabor Plain, you will travel on the longest straight railway track in the world, 478 km without a turn. Stopping in the middle of nowhere, at the ghost town of Cook, and wandering among abandoned buildings, you will learn about its intriguing history. The next morning, the desert landscape gives way to hilly South Australia and you can visit beautiful Adelaide and its surroundings on an excursion. Over lunch on board, the train traverses the verdant countryside, before stopping in the mining town of Broken Hill for a town tour and a visit to the Miners Memorial. On day 4, you will travel via the spectacular Blue Mountains to Sydney on the Pacific Ocean, where your special train journey ends.
